Expression of capsGS13628 driven by Scer\GAL4Dll-md23 causes visible defects in the adult leg. Mutant legs display unusual epidermal protuberances or internal vesicles.
Cells expressing capsGS13628 in the leg imaginal disc driven by Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 often invade the basal side of the posterior compartment and intermingle with posterior cells. The cell-invasion phenotype is most prominent in the central part of the leg disc. In extreme cases, the capsGS13628-expressing cells become aligned in a circular pattern. The mutant animals hatch with malformed legs and are unable to walk.
