UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Expression of RalaJF03259 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 leads to significant decrease in flight ability in adults (measured as flight time in a single flight assay on tethered flies), but their climbing ability is unaffected as compared with controls. Similar flight deficit is observed also when the RalaJF03259 expression is limited to pupal stages (using tub-Gal80[ts] to exert the temporal control) but not if it is restricted to larval stages or to adulthood.
