UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Flies with expression of nrv3JF03367 driven by Scer\GAL4repo.PU or Scer\GAL4GMR.long have a normal response to light pulses (ERG recording on the eye surface). When expression is driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF there is a significant decrease in ERG amplitude in response to light (in both 1 and 10 day old flies) and there is significant loss of rhabdomeres by day 10 (but not day 1), compared to controls. Scer\GAL4GMR.PF>nrv3JF03367 flies show normal phototaxis (at 1 and 10 days old) but have weak optomotor responses (significant decreases compared to controls at both 1 and 10 days old).
