The expression of CalpAJF03391 under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.PG results in dendrite pruning defects in class IV da neurons at 14h APF.

Expression of CalpAGS9103 under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR results in a lethal embryonic phenotype. This is partially suppressed by co-expression of CalpAJF03391.

Expression of CalpAJF03391 under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR (with UAS-Dicer2 to increase RNAi efficiency) results in locomotion defects in third instar larvae; there is a significant reduction in speed and a significant increase in the time taken for larvae to right themselves. Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4C23 also results in locomotion defects in third instar larvae.

The length and width of the lateral transverse muscles is significantly reduced in embryos expressing CalpAJF03391 under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR.

Adults expressing CalpAJF03391 under the control of Scer\GAL4Cg.PA show a reduced survival rate compared to control flies when challenged with the fungus Beauveria bassiana.

The survival rate of adults expressing CalpAJF03391 under the control of Scer\GAL4Cg.PA when challenged with E. coli is not significantly different from that of controls.
