High levels of Dap160Scer\UAS.cTa overexpression in SOP cells and their descendants, under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 leads to more-numerous external sensory organs in a dosage-dependent manner. In addition, large balding patches are also observed. Clusters of neurons are observed underneath the balding patches, unlike in wild-type, where only a single neuron is found.
Co-expression of one copy each of Eps-15Scer\UAS.cTa and Dap160Scer\UAS.cTa in SOP cells and their descendants, under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 results in clusters of hairs and areas of balding, as well as more-numerous neurons underneath the balding patches in an additive phenotype.
