Expression of BthDdsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of either Scer\GAL4fkh.PH or Scer\GAL4da.G32 does not significantly affect embryonic or larval survival, but the number of adult flies that are recovered is significantly reduced, with most lethality occurring shortly after pupariation.

Expression of BthDdsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of either Scer\GAL4fkh.PH or Scer\GAL4da.G32 results in a reduction in cell size in third larval instar salivary glands, with the glands being significantly smaller and the nuclei more closely packed than in controls. The total number of cells is not decreased in the mutant salivary glands.

Expression of BthDdsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 has no effect on imaginal disc or gut morphology in third instar larvae.
