Imprecise excision of the progenitor insertion, resulting in a 10bp deletion in intron 7 approximately 3kb from the site of the original insertion.
10 bp deletion in intron 7 of Nrx-1 resulting from the excision of Mi{ET1}Nrx-1MB00002. The insertion is completely excised in the Nrx-1313 mutant.
Neuromuscular junction (NMJ) size and the number of active zones/NMJ are significantly reduced in Nrx-1313/Df(3R)Exel6191 embryos compared to wild type, while active zone density within the NMJ and active zone size are unaffected.
The amplitude of the evoked excitatory junction current (EJC) is reduced in Nrx-1313/Df(3R)Exel6191 embryonic NMJs compared to wild type, while the frequency of spontaneous EJCs is unaffected. There is no change in the amplitude of glutamate-gated currents at the NMJ in these embryos.
