Wing discs of ana1mecB/Df(3R)Exel7357, ana1Ubi.GFP individuals show over-elongation of centrioles.

ana1mecB/Df(3R)Exel7357, ana1S34T.Ubi.GFP males have fewer progeny and their spermatids show shorter centrioles than controls. ana1mecB/Df(3R)Exel7357, ana1S34T.Ubi.mCherry males also have fewer progeny.

Embryos from ana1mecB/Df(3R)Exel7357, ana1S34T.Ubi.GFP mothers show mitotic defects and centrosomal defects (duplicated/clustered centrosomes, centrosomes shared by 2 spindles, spindles poles lacking centrosomes, detached centrosomes). Unlike controls, centrosomes fail to accumulate substantial PCM scaffold.

Mechanosensory neurons lack the tubular body but retain a dendritic sheath. At the base of the cilium, the basal body is absent.

Axonemes are missing in sperm tails and the sperm are immotile.

At 18[o]C, flies are uncoordinated, their legs are crossed and their wings extend upwards.
