UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Expression of Lrp4JF01570 under the control of Scer\GAL4peb-GAL4 results in the decreased synapse number (assessed by counting active zone marker puncta) in the VA1v olfactory receptor neurons (while the neurite volume remains unaffected compared to controls) and in a complete loss of olfactory attraction of adult flies to an attractive odorant (apple cider vinegar) in a trap assay. This lack of olfactory attraction behavior is not due to general defects in locomotion.
