Homozygous flies show a significant increase in fluctuating asymmetry of left and right wing areas compared to controls.

(Colombani et al., 2015)

Ilp8^MI00727 shortens the delay in pupariation induced by EMS by 44.03%.

Ilp8^MI00727 animals pupate over an extended timescale and are more varied in size compared to controls sharing the same genetic background. Individually, Ilp8^MI00727 flies reared at 26.5[o]C display imperfect bilateral symmetry, as assayed by right vs left wing size.
