Expression of Sulf1^{Golgi.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\GALNT3} in epidermic cells under the control of Scer\GAL4^hh-Gal4 results in severe reduction in the overall dendrite or terminal dendrite density and with the latter driver also the terminal dendrite number within the intersegmental area in the adjacent class IV dendritic arborizing neurons in third instar larvae. This reduction of the dendritic tree, albeit somewhat weaker, is also observed upon only short-term (24 hr) Sulf1^{Golgi.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\GALNT3} expression induced in early third instar larvae (using tub_Gal80[ts] to exert temporal control).
