Description

Ubi-p63E promoter sequences drive expression of full-length rhea (sequence extends from 457bp upstream of the ATG codon to 100bp downstream of the stop codon) containing the amino acid replacement R367A.

Expression of ifΔGFFNR.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B rescues the late-muscle-detachment phenotype of embryos expressing rheaR367A.Ubi-p63E in a Df(3L)79a mutant background.

Comments

Expression of rheaR367A.Ubi-p63E fails to rescue the lethality of of Df(3L)79a germ-line clones. However, expression does rescue defects in gut migration, germ-band retraction, dorsal closure, and muscle attachment. Late-onset muscle detachment is observed in these animals. Retraction of one end of some of the ventral longitudinal muscles from the attachment site is observed.
