UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Flies expressing ApsKK109021 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 are more susceptible to starvation and total lipid levels are elevated compared with controls. Under normal food conditions the flies eat significantly more than control flies and total lipid levels are slightly, but not significantly, elevated. Circulating glucose and trehalose levels are reduced compared with controls both with and without starvation. Body trehalose levels are increased before starvation but unchanged from controls during starvation. Glycogen levels are not significantly different from controls before starvation but are significantly lower after 24 hours of starvation.
