Expression of S6kScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 fails to generate a bent-down wing phenotype in a Hr46K243X background.

Eyes containing Hr46K243X cell clones exhibit a significant reduction in eye size.

Hr46K243X mutant bristle clones on the scutellum are significantly reduced in size. The orientation of these bristles is also affected, as compared to the surounding bristles. Misorientation is also observed for the ommatidia-associated bristles in homozygous Hr46W284X clones.

Compared to control eyes, homozygous Hr46W284X mutant eyes exhibit a significant reduction in surface area. The reduction in ommatidia area is not as strong as for the surface of the entire eye, indicating that the number of ommatidia is also affected.
