UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a short inverted repeat.
Females heterozygous for AblGL00234 and MTD-Gal4 (consists of Scer\GAL4otu.T:Hsim\VP16, Scer\GAL4nos.PG and Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16) crossed to AblGL00234 males results in: 10% hatching; egg/embryonic phenotype: "no cuticle defects, funny FK"; maternal effect.
Embryos expressing AblGL00234 under the control of Scer\GAL4mat.αTub67C.T:Hsim\VP16 show a significant reduction in axis elongation compared to wild type during germband elongation.
The defects in axis elongation seen in embryos expressing AblGL00234 under the control of Scer\GAL4mat.αTub67C.T:Hsim\VP16 are partially rescued by co-expression of armY667E.Scer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1 but are not rescued by co-expression of armY667F.Scer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1 or of armScer\UAS.P\T.T:Ivir\HA1.
