Expressing Cdk2HMS01543 under the control of Scer\GAL4Cg.PA leads to adipocytes exhibiting reduced perinuclear microtubule concentration and decreased ploidy, without preventing differentiation, as they are still full of lipid droplets. Decreased ploidy is also observed upon conditional expression from L2 onwards (temporal control of expression using Gal80[ts]).
Females heterozygous for Cdk2HMS01543 and MTD-Gal4 (consists of Scer\GAL4otu.T:Hsim\VP16, Scer\GAL4nos.PG and Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16) crossed to Cdk2HMS01543 males results in: no eggs; egg/embryonic phenotype: no vitellogenic egg chambers; oogenesis defect.
