Co-expression of sv^Scer\UAS.cKa and pros^{dsRNA.Scer\UAS} under the control of Scer\GAL4^sev.EP significantly increases the transformation of R7 photoreceptors into cone cells, with the majority of ommatidia forming five cone cells and lacking R7s. Mild eye roughening is also observed.
