12bp deletion within the intron.
12 bp deletion in the single intron of Inx2.
Homozygous females have tiny ovaries which contain no mature eggs. The ovarioles contain only early germ cells which resemble germline stem cells and cystoblasts. Fusomes are often not detected in the mutant germaria, and when they are present, they are unbranched. Follicle cells fail to form egg chambers in the mutant germarium.
Inx2FA42 has egg chamber phenotype, suppressible by shgUAS.sgGFP/Scer\GAL4hs.PU
Inx2FA42, zpg[+]/zpgz-5352 has female germline cell phenotype
Expression of shgScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-rs under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PU partially rescues the formation of egg chambers in Inx2FA42 females.
Expression of Egfr1.A887T.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PU partially restores cyst formation in Inx2FA42 females (branched fusomes are observed in 77% of cases), but the formation of egg chambers is not rescued in these females.
The addition of zpgz-5352/+ significantly reduces the number of germ cells in the germaria in Inx2FA42 females.
Inx2FA42 is partially rescued by Inx2UAS.cBa/Scer\GAL4hs.PU
Expression of Inx2Scer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PU partially rescues the sterility of Inx2FA42 homozygous females: 51.9% of ovaries are able to produce mature eggs in the rescued females.
