      Expression of UbqnScer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 causes serious defects during pupal metamorphosis. The gas bubble remains in the middle of the abdomen, or in some cases, translocates to a lateral or posterior position (in contrast to wild type where the bubble relocates to the anterior portion of the pupa). Head structures are missing in more than 90% of the pupae, or alternatively only damaged, rudimentary eye or head structures are produced. In most cases, the legs are shorter than normal, bent and only partly elongated. Wings are positioned abnormally, being in an upheld position at the anterior part of the pupa.
