Adulthood-only expression of CapaRdsRNA.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B (together with Gal80[ts] for the temporal control of expression) leads to decreased walking activity; individuals present a delay in gut transit, as well as fewer, smaller, and more concentrated fecal deposits; the feeding time is decreased and food consumption is decreased.

The expression of CapaRdsRNA.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR21E06 leads to to decreased adult walking activity.

The expression of CapaRdsRNA.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Uro.PT leads to fewer, but not smaller or more concentrated fecal deposits.

Expression of capaRdsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4c42 results in significantly decreased malpighian tubule fluid transport rates upon stimulation with the capa1 peptide.

Flies expressing capaRdsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Uro.PT exhibit extended survival compared to controls in response to starvation/dessication stress.
