      Hearts expressing MhcdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4HCH.Hand show prolonged systolic and diastolic intervals and increased diastolic and in particular systolic diameters resulting in reduced cardiac contractility compared with wild-type. In addition, these hearts display a dramatic increase in cardiac arrhythmia due to increased asystoly events.

      Myofibrillar disorganization is apparent in hearts expressing MhcdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4HCH.Hand compared with wild-type hearts.
