Induction of lqfdsRNA.Scer\UAS (under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PB) in early L2 larvae by shifting the animals from 18[o]C to 32[o]C for three days results in the absence of acridine orange-positive or LysoTracker-positive granuales in wandering animals. This treatment leads to a prolonged larval stage and results in the failure of metamorphosis. Without heat treatment, the acridine-positive and LysoTracker-positive granules appear in the trophocytes of these larvae and their development is unaffected.
