UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of a 500bp inverted repeat.
Third instar larvae expressing shopNIG.7280R leads to impaired crawling activity compared to controls: under the control of Scer\GAL4repo.PU, larvae show decreased travel distance, decreased run phases, more stops with a significant increase in head bending, and decreased peristalsis efficiency and frequency; under the control of Scer\GAL4R83E12.O, Scer\GAL4nrv2.PU or Scer\GAL4GMR83E12, larvae display a significant increase in head bending; under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR25H07, larvae show a significant decrease in peristalsis efficacy, but no changes in head bending behavior; under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR55B12 or Scer\GAL4nSyb.PU, larvae do not show changes in head bending behavior.
Upon Scer\GAL4GMR83E12 or Scer\GAL4nrv2.PU-driven expression, larval muscles 6 show significantly less frequent electric bursts, but no defects in sequential activation between abdominal segments 1 and 3, as compared to controls.
