UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a DsRed(Unk) fluorescent protein. A genomic fragment containing an miRNA cluster (includes the mir-11 and mir-998 pre-miRNA hairpins) has been inserted into the DsRed(Unk) 3'UTR.

      Expression of P{UAS-DsRed-mir-11+mir-998.L} under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 results in smaller wings than normal which have a spoon shape. The last part of vein L5, and sometimes of L4, is absent.

      Expression of P{UAS-DsRed-mir-11+mir-998.L} under the control of Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1 results in part vein L5 being missing.
