UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a DsRed(Unk) fluorescent protein. A genomic fragment containing an miRNA cluster (includes the mir-994 and mir-318 pre-miRNA hairpins) has been inserted into the DsRed(Unk) 3'UTR.

      Adult escapers expressing P{UAS-DsRed-mir-994+mir-318.L} under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 have almost no wings.

      Expression of P{UAS-DsRed-mir-994+mir-318.L} under the control of Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1 results in lethality from the third larval instar to pharate adult stages. Adult escapers lack wings.
