DllR28/Df(2R)ED4065 flies have a shortened and balloon-like femur, a malformed trochanter and truncation of the leg at the level of the distal tibia. The bristles on the femur lack bracts, in contrast to wild type. Wing margin bristles are not missing. Late third larval instar leg discs have fewer epithelial folds than normal which sometimes result in an elongated morphology.
