Down-regulation of UbcD6 in the posterior part of developing wings, through expression of UbcD6^{dsRNA.Scer\UAS} under the control of Scer\GAL4^en.PU, results in over 50% of adult flies displaying different degrees of curled wings, suggesting UbcD6 is involved in wing morphogenesis. Depletion of UbcD6 results in an increase in apoptotic cells in the posterior compartment.
