UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a short inverted repeat.
Expressing β-SpecGL01174 under the control of Scer\GAL4DcG leads to third instar larval fat cells completely lacking the plasma membrane invaginations normally present in controls; peripheral lipid droplets show higher variability in size, are larger on average, and are present in lower density, as compared to controls; there are no changes in cytoplasmic medial lipid droplet size or density.
The expression of β-SpecGL01174 under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.PG leads to late third instar larval class IV da neurons showing a clear loss of distal dendrites near segmental boundaries, namely significant decreases in distal dendritic branch complexity, total dendritic branch length and number of dendritic branch points, as compared to controls.
