      Flies expressing HtrA2dsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 are viable and fertile with no detectable morphological abnormalities. Third instar larvae are more resistant to UV-induced lethality compared to controls. Adult flies are more resistant to dietary paraquat, a superoxide stress agent. The ingestion rate is unaffected.
