Hsp70 regulatory sequences drive expression of a Hsap\YWHAG cDNA.
1.61% of flies expressing Hsap\YWHAGhs.cHa have a rough eye phenotype when heat-shocked at 37[o]C for 30 minutes every 7.5 hours from the third instar larval stage.
An increased number of elav-positive proneural eye disc cells are going through S-phase (visualised using BrdU) in heat-shocked third instar larvae expressing 3 or 4 copies of Hsap\YWHAGhs.cHa (homozygous/heterozygous for an X chromosome insertion and homozygous for a 3rd chromosome insertion) in comparison with non-heat-shocked controls.
Hsap\YWHAGhs.cHa has visible | adult stage | heat sensitive phenotype, enhanceable by stg6/stg[+]
Hsap\YWHAGhs.cHa, stg6/stg[+] has eye | heat sensitive phenotype
Heterozygous stg6 induces a rough eye phenotype when flies expressing Hsap\YWHAGhs.cHa are heat-shocked at 37[o]C for 30 minutes every 7.5 hours from the third instar stage. 8.96% of flies have a rough eye compared to only 1.61% in the absence of stg6 and 1.39% in wild type controls. No eye defects are seen in heterozygous stg6.
