UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of Hsap\APP AΒ3-42 peptide in which the glutamic acid at amino acid three has been replaced by glutamate. The construct is fused at the N-terminal end to the prepro-sequence of Mmus\Trh.

      Production of the Aβ3(pE)-42 protein in Hsap\APPAβ3Q-42.TRH.Scer\UAS flies is inhibited by the glutaminyl cyclase inhibitor PBD150. Aβ3(pE)-42 contributes to amyloid deposition and disease progression in humans with Alzheimer's and in mouse disease models.
