      Scer\GAL4ey.PU-mediated expression of dmScer\UAS.PV in a dmP0 background increases ommatidial size but substantially decreases ommatidial number. In the eye imaginal disc, the number of differentiated photoreceptors is significantly reduced and the number of apoptotic cells is increased.
