      Expression of Hsap\MAPTK44Q.R230Q.Scer\UAS in the developing retina, under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, causes a moderate rough eye phenotype, characterised by disruption of the ordered ommatidial arrangement and a moderate reduction in the size of the eye. Toxicity is greatly reduced compared to expression of Hsap\MAPTScer\UAS.cWa. In fact, so reduced that apart from a slight bristle defect, these flies are nearly indistinguishable from non-transgenic flies.
