Endogenous regulatory and promoter sequences drive expression of Synj that has been tagged at the C-terminal end with YPet. A 30 amino acid in-frame loxP site linker is found between Synj and the tag.

      Flies expressing synjT:Avic\GFP-YPet in a wild type background do not show any defects in climbing, negative geotaxis or flying. Electroretinogram recordings seen in response to a light flash are comparable to wild type.
