Comment:

Deletion resulting from the imprecise excision of P{wHy}DG39210 that extends from -718 to +535 relative to the skl transcription start site. curator note: 3L:18433037 (R5) was used as the transcription start site for the mapping.

Detailed Description

Homozygotes are viable and fertile, with no noticeable deficit in morphology, development and reproduction.

Homozygotes show a minor defect in programmed cell death with 3.0 +/- 1.2 vCrz neurons being present at 7 hours after puparium formation (these neurons are no longer present in wild-type animals at this stage).

As in wild type, skle1 mutant bursCCAP neurons undergo programmed cell death shortly after eclosion.
