Expression of Hsap\DAPK1Scer\UAS.cWa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in a severe rough-eye phenotype with loss of ommatidia and disorganisation of the ommatidial array. Photoreceptor neurons are completely absent in these flies.

A par-1Δ-16 heterozygous background alleviates the rough-eye phenotype seen upon expression of Hsap\DAPK1Scer\UAS.cWa in the eye under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF. Photoreceptor neurons are partially rescued in these flies, albeit with abnormal numbers and arrangements.

Coexpression of a low-expression Hsap\DAPK1Scer\UAS.cWa with par-1Scer\UAS.cSa in the developing eye, both under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, produces a synergistic interaction, resulting in markedly reduced eye size with fewer ommatidia.

Knockdown of Hsap\MAPT through expression of Hsap\MAPTdsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF alleviates the rough-eye phenotype seen upon expression of Hsap\DAPK1Scer\UAS.cWa.

Coexpression of Hsap\DAPK1Scer\UAS.cWa in the developing eye under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF dramatically enhances Hsap\MAPTScer\UAS.cWa toxicity.
