      Mutants are viable with normal external adult morphology.

      lov38 larvae appear and behave like controls.

      lov38 homozygous, hemizygous and lov38/lov47 males show decreased courtship, and lov38 males show non-directed courtship elements (i.e. while not pursuing the female). In the absence of females, lov38 homozygous and hemizygous males are significantly more active than controls.

      lov38 hemizygous, but not homozygous, adults show poor climbing ability.
