      Ultrastructural analysis shows that the wing hairs are largely missing in flies expressing Hto-WP(2)NAWNAW under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096-KE, although the sense organs of the wing appear normal. The wing cuticle is uneven and the cell remnants bulge outwards, giving a tiled appearance not seen in wild type.
