Homozygotes and jnjX1/jnjR1 animals show caffeine-dependent lethality.

Homozygotes, jnjR1/jnjX1 and jnjR1/Df(3R)Exel6198 animals show reduced survival after irradiation compared to controls.

Dramatically increased apoptotic cell death is observed in the eye discs of jnjR1/jnjX1 larvae after 12 hours exposure to caffeine.

BrdU incorporation in eye imaginal discs is abolished by hydroxyurea treatment in jnjR1/jnjX1 larvae, as occurs in wild type.
