      Dcp-13 homozygozity does not provide protection against (injury-induced) Wallerian degeneration of third instar larval motoneurons.

      Engulfment of nurse cells by follicle cells is largely inhibited in homozygous Dcp-13 mutant degenerating egg chambers in starved flies. Most follicle cells fail to enlarge and display thinning out of the membranes.
