      The collapsed egg phenotype of embryos laid by homozygous gusf07073 mutant mothers is nearly fully rescued by maternal overexpression of gusScer\UAS.S.T:Ivir\HA1 using the ubiquitous Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU driver, but not when the germ line-specific Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 driver is used.

      Maternal overexpression of gusScer\UAS.S.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 causes a significant reduction in the number of primordial germ cells in embryos compared with wild-type.

      Some eggs produced from Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16>gusScer\UAS.S.T:Ivir\HA1-overexpressing females are unfertilized, and some embryos develop aberrantly.
