Embryos from Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16>FsnScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1-overexpressing females form fewer primordial germ cells than do wild-type embryos (an average of 17 versus 34). Introducing Fsnf06595/+, Df(2R)Exel7124/+ or homozygous Fsnf06595 into the maternal Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16>FsnScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 overexpression background partially suppresses the loss of primordial germ cells in a statistically significant manner.
