Q2052term
Site of nucleotide substitution in mutant inferred by FlyBase based on reported amino acid change.
rhea15-39 mutants exhibit terminal cell pruning with multiple convoluted lumens.
rhea15-39 mutants display dorsal closure and germ band retraction defects.
rhea15-39 dorsal branch terminal cell clones in third instar larvae have ~70% fewer terminal branches than wild-type clones. Most of the rhea15-39 clone terminal cell branches contain a single, smooth, air-filled lumen as in wild-type branches. However, in the tips of some branches, the lumen is convoluted or extra lumens are present.
Based on the extent of the tracheal luminal phenotype, the following rhea alleles can be ranked from weakest to strongest: rhea15-39 < rhea14-69 < rhea6-66 < rhea13-8.
