Expression of Sema-2b3'UTR.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4peb-GAL4 restores the dorsolateral/ventromedial axon bundle ratio in Sema-2bf02042 mutants. However, expression at 29[o]C results in differential Sema-2b3'UTR.Scer\UAS expression between the two bundles, with a bias towards the ventromedial trajectory, in some cases almost completely removing the dorsolateral bundle. Sufficiently high levels of Sema-2b can thus force dorsolateral axons to choose the ventromedial trajectory.
Overexpression of Sema-2b3'UTR.Scer\UAS in pupal axons, under the control of Scer\GAL4peb-GAL4, causes significant Or67d and Or88a mistargeting to the ventral antennal lobe. These mis-targeted axons always project to immediately adjacent regions, with Or67d axons medial to Or88a axons in 89% of cases.
