UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat of a 1234bp 2mit cDNA fragment (corresponding to positions 2756-3989 of GenBank:NM_142001.2).
Males expressing 2mitdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cBa under the control of either Scer\GAL4elav.PU, Scer\GAL4c747 or Scer\GAL4Mef2.247 show a defect in courtship conditioning: the courtship index of homozygous males that have previously courted non-receptive females is not significantly reduced compared to control males that have not undergone conditioning (in contrast to wild-type males, where conditioned males show a reduced courtship index compared to unconditioned controls).
Males expressing 2mitdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4ey-OK107 show a defect in courtship conditioning (no significant difference in the courtship index in conditioned and unconditioned males) in two out of three 2mitdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cBa insertion lines studied.
Males expressing 2mitdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cBa under the control of either Scer\GAL4Aph-4-c232 or Scer\GAL452y show normal courtship conditioning (males that have previously courted non-receptive females show a significant reduction in courtship index compared to control males that have not undergone conditioning).
The phase response curve of homozygous flies subjected to 20 light minute pulses at different times during the night is similar to that of wild type.
