Over-expression of mnbScer\UAS.cHa driven in the wing by Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 results in incomplete formation of lateral vein 5 (90% penetration); over-expression in the eye driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PFa does not significantly reduce eye size. Over-expression of mnbScer\UAS.cHa driven pan-neuronally by Scer\GAL4elav-C155 results in severe disorganization of the central and peripheral nervous systems at late embryonic stage 18, and high adult lethality (70% lethal).

Flies expressing mnbScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4sNPF-R.2.5 show significantly increased food consumption compared to controls.

Expression of mnbScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4Ilp2.PR has no significant effect on food intake in adults.

Adults expressing mnbScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4sNPF-R.2.5 have an increased body weight relative to controls.
