Expression of Sirt1^GD11580 under the control of Scer\GAL4^Hand.PU leads to significantly reduced heart period, systolic interval, fractional shortening and diastolic interval, whereas it leads to significantly increased diastolic dysfunction index, diastolic diameter and systolic diameter when compared to control adults.

Expression of Sirt1^GD11580 under the control of either Scer\GAL4^{αTub84B.Switch.PK} or Scer\GAL4^Switch1.106, but not Scer\GAL4^{Mhc.Switch.PO} (and keeping the flies on medium containing RU486 to induce the expression) results in significantly reduced survival upon starvation compared to wild-type controls.

Adults expressing Sirt1^GD11580 under the control of Scer\GAL4^elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2^Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
