UAS regulates expression of Manf containing amino acid changes K79A, K83A and K86A (N-terminal Mutant Group 1, NMG1) - selected positively charged lysines of this surface amino acid group are replaced with neutral alanines to disrupt putative lipid interactions in the cell membrane.
