Scer\GAL4mat.αTub67C.T:Hsim\VP16-mediated expression of poloScer\UAS.P\T.T:Hsap\MYC in embryos from gwl6a/+ mothers show a significant fraction of nuclei that fail to enter mitosis when the majority of nuclei are already in pro/metaphase. Defective nuclei are characterized by absence of a mitotic spindle, very strong lamin staining, and uncondensed chromosomes.
