UASp regulatory sequences drive expression of a fusion protein composed of 'DE-cadherin ΔCyt' (shg lacking the cytoplasmic domain) fused to the cytoplasmic domain of Rnor\Cd2 followed by full-length α-Cat coding sequences.

Expression of shg::Rnor\CD2::α-Cat^{shg.ΔCyt.Scer\UAS} in follicle cells using the MARCM system and Scer\GAL4^{Scer\FRT.Rnor\CD2.αTub84B} suppresses the follicle cell sorting, loss of epithelial integrity and oocyte mispositioning phenotypes seen in shg^R69/+ mutant follicle cell clones. However, expression of shg::Rnor\CD2::α-Cat^{shg.ΔCyt.Scer\UAS} fails to fully suppress the migration defects of shg mutant border cells.
